Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock has finalized her divorce from husband Jesse James who was linked to a stripper, People magazine reported Tuesday.
Bullock, 45, filed for divorce in April from James, 41, in Austin, Texas, where she lives. The two had been married for five years.
Bullock’s representative told the celebrity magazine the divorce is now final.
James, who hosts the reality TV show “Monster Garage,” issued a statement apologizing to his wife and children, and reportedly sought in-patient treatment at a clinic. It did not stop Bullock seeking a divorce though.
Official court papers published on the TMZ entertainment news website showed “the marriage had become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities,” preventing “any reasonable expectations of reconciliation.”
Bullock’s marriage unraveled just 10 days after she scooped a best actress Academy Award for her performance in “The Blind Side,” where she plays a southern housewife who adopts a troubled homeless teenager.
It was the latest in a series of honors for Bullock and in her acceptance speeches she has repeatedly paid tribute to her husband.
The two separated soon after allegations by tattooed stripper Michelle “Bombshell” McGee that she had been involved in an affair with James for several months.
