TAMPA – Nearly a dozen families evacuated their homes yesterday morning after a sinkhole opened in their condominium complex’s parking lot, near the University of South Florida campus.
The sinkhole was reported at 6:09 a.m. yesterday, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Chief Frank Fernandez said.
The Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross is helping four of the families find temporary housing.
Eleven of the building’s 12 units were occupied, and emergency officials cut off utilities to the building. To read more click here.
