102961274 Rays Drop 2 Out Of 3

It could have been a wonderful weekend at Yankee Stadium.

It could have been two out of three against the first place Yankees.

Instead, the Rays left with one win after coming unglued during Sunday’s 9-5 loss, which left them three-games behind the Yankees, matching the farthest they’ve been out of first place this season.

“There’s nothing too, too negative to take out of here,” Evan Longoria said. “We just have to keep moving forward. We have a lot of baseball left. That’s kind of a cliché thing to say, and I hate to say it over and over and then we look up and there’s 20 games left in the season. But we’re fresh off the All-Star Break and we got a chance to win (tonight), and we keep moving forward.”
