[lastfm]Hootie and The Blowfish[/lastfm], that is.  That little dot on the map tells you where the monument will be.  It’s in South Carolina’s capital city.  A large steel and black granite art piece will be unveiled next month in Columbia’s five Points neighborhood, blocks from

the University of South Carolina.  Why you ask?  Well I’ll tell you.  It’s because the Southern rockers sold more than 16 million copies of their debut album, “Cracked Rear View,” released in 1994.  The band celebrates their 25th anniversary next year and lead singer [lastfm]Darius Rucker [/lastfm]is cranking out the hits in country music, releasing his second solo album next month, “Charleston SC 1966.”
