darius 385 Darius Rucker Drops New Album Charleston, SC 1966 When he took the stage to accept the Country Music Association’s “New Artist of the Year” award in November of 2009, [lastfm]Darius Rucker[/lastfm] was already well on his way to becoming an established country artist. His 2008 album Learn To Live hit #1 on the US country charts and was certified platinum, and had spawned three #1 hit singles, the biggest of which is his song “Alright.” Not one to take his success for granted, Rucker set about writing a follow-up album, knowing he had to dig deep and create something worthy of the success he’d begun to enjoy. The result is this week’s new release, the semi-autobiographical Charleston, SC 1966, which included a cameo by friend [lastfm]Brad Paisley[/lastfm].

[lastfm]Darius Rucker[/lastfm]’s new single is called “Come Back Song” – check out the brand-new video that just hit Vevo.com:

For anyone who missed his huge hit single from the last album, check out Rucker performing “Alright” live at the Redneck Yacht Club, for WSOC-FM in Charlotte, North Carolina.
