[lastfm]Sugarland[/lastfm] is having a pretty good time with their 11th Top Ten single [lastfm]Stuck Like Glue,[/lastfm] but they admit that the ride to the top of the charts has been shall we say a challenging one? The song’s got a little reggae-infused section in it and a bunch of program type people in country radio think it’s incompatible with their format. Whatever! Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush defend the song by saying
“I don’t think this is the first reggae-flavored backbeat anyone’s ever heard in country music.” ”People around us have had entire [lastfm]Bob Marley[/lastfm] families on their record. So I’m not sure why people are in a huff now.” I don’t know if radio will embrace “Stuck Like Glue” enough to take it all the way to the top, but Jennifer and Kristian will continue to try to do the best they can, expand their roles beyond being traditional artists. The Incredible Machine Tour comes to the 1-800 Ask-Gary Amphitheater this Friday. See you at the show.
