In honor of Country Music Month, we asked a panel of country music experts from across the country, “what is the best country song you’ve ever heard?” This installment is from Chris Allen. Chris is the producer for WSOC’s Tanner in the Morning show in Charlotte. Here now, is the best country song Chris has ever heard.
The Best Country Song I ever heard is “Coat of Many Colors” from [lastfm]Dolly Parton[/lastfm]. I heard this song as a kid on the way to school. As you know kids can be cruel sometimes, that being said, I was one that made fun of other kids. I know I was wrong, but after hearing this song I learned my life lesson, don’t judge people by looks, what they wear, or what they have. “Coat of Many Colors”, the perfect country song with a story and a valuable lesson sung by the beautiful Dolly Parton.
Every time I hear it I think of my Grandmother who tried to teach me this at a very young age, however I had to hear it in a song to learn. I guess I discovered the power of music and radio then. I think that may have gave me the desire to get into radio.
