That picture you see is the actual childhood home of [lastfm]Loretta Lynn[/lastfm] who is to be honored next month at the CMA AWARDS in Nashville, Tennessee. [lastfm]Miranda Lambert[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Sheryl Crow[/lastfm] will deliver a special performance of Lynn’s signature song,
“[lastfm]Coal Miner’s Daughter[/lastfm].” Lambert and Crow also sang a version of the 1970 hit with Lynn on a tribute album due out Nov. 9. The two were among a group of artists chosen for the album by Lynn herself – who hand-wrote personal notes to each asking them to participate – among them, [lastfm]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm], [lastfm]Faith Hill[/lastfm], [lastfm]Kid Rock[/lastfm], the [lastfm]White Stripes[/lastfm], [lastfm]Paramore[/lastfm], [lastfm]Alan Jackson[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Steve Earle[/lastfm]. Lynn said that she admires how Lambert (nominated for nine CMAs, including Entertainer of the Year) brings the “sassy” to her vocals. “You have to stop and watch her when you see her.” The 44th Annual [lastfm]CMA Awards[/lastfm], hosted by Underwood and [lastfm]Brad Paisley[/lastfm], will air Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
