Josh Thompson Goes Way Out There
Josh Thompson‘s star has been rising fast this year. After support slots for Brad Paisley, Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr. he’s about to embark on a solo tour of his own to see in the holiday season.
Last.fm Trends takes a look at how listeners are reacting to his debut, and what’ll be in demand on the road.
Thompson’s year started out slowly. Listeners weren’t all that quick to react to 2009’s “Beer On the Table,” his debut single, and to date it’s only seen 13,714 scrobbles from 2,490 fans.
“Way Out Here” is the clear favorite, and is ahead by a fair distance: since release it’s gotten 19,926 scrobbles from 7,664 listeners. The listener numbers are what matters most to newcomers; the further his music reaches the more people he’ll be able to connect with while out on the road.
What’s also important is how quickly he’s risen. In six months he’s climbed from just a few listeners every week to almost 1,000 now. Meanwhile “Beer On The Table” has stayed steady with around 100 listeners week after week.
It all contributes to his total plays, which sits around 87,443 scrobbles from 18,296 listeners. He’s not at Paisley’s level yet (4,639,933 plays from 333,439 listeners), but give him time.
