Partridge Family Star Enters Plea
So what ever happened with that DUI (alleged) that [lastfm link_type=""]David Cassidy[/lastfm] got from the [lastfm link_type=""]Florida Highway Patrol[/lastfm] last month? Seem’s like David sings the song and his lawyer does the defending. An attorney defending the “star” entered
a plea of not guilty at Ft. Pierce County Court resulting from Cassidy’s arrest last month on suspicion of drunk driving. Per a court clerk, the 60-year-old former teen idol was not present when the plea to one count of misdemeanor DUI was submitted in writing. The judge set his next hearing for Jan. 18. FHP troopers spotted Cassidy weaving or meandering in and out of lanes and pulled him over. Suspecting alcohol, officers administered a field sobriety test, which he flunked. After blowing a 0.139 and 0.141 on a Breathalyzer, well above the legal limit, he was taken into custody and dried out that evening in St. Lucie jail before being released on $350 bail. According to the police report, Cassidy admitted during the bust that he was tired and had taken a hydrocodone tablet earlier that afternoon. Cops also discovered a half-empty bottle of bourbon in his vehicle. Counsel could not be reached for comment. If convicted, Cassidy, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, could face a maximum six months in the slammer and a $1,000 fine.
