As part of Last.fm Trends‘ rundown of the nominees, we’re looking at whether Nail really has that winning way.
“Turning Home” has a relatively small listenership, although this is growing slowly. It’s not his biggest track, by some stretch: previous single “Red Light” is far more popular, with 147,219 scrobbles from 50,701 listeners. For a relatively new artist, a track they’re not best known for seems an outside bet for the Grammy.
In addition, the accolade hasn’t been taken by an artist on their debut album since Roger Miller in 1964, when the newly-created award was known as Best Country & Western Vocal Performance – Male. Could Nail break a 46-year pattern?
