Today, there’s lots of talk about the Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Actor, but if you’re a Country fan (and we’ll assume you are, since you’re here) there’s one award that far outweighs them all: Best Original Song.  The nominations include songs from Tangled, 127 Hours, and Toy Story 3, but the favorite around here is certainly “Coming Home” sung by [lastfm]Gwyneth Paltrow[/lastfm] in Country Strong.

If  “Coming Home” wins the Oscar this year, it will be the second year in a row that a Country song has taken the trophy, with “The Weary Kind” from Crazy Heart taking the honor last year.

“Coming Home” was written by Bob DiPiero, Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey. Watch Gwyenth discuss the song below.
