The Steeldrivers will be hoping to hit a double at this year’s GRAMMYs: they’ve been nominated for both Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, and Best Bluegrass Album.

Still a relatively new act, what do their scrobbles tell us about their chances? Trends is finding out.

steeldriverstrend Trends: The SteelDrivers Push On Towards The Grammys“Where Rainbows Never Die” has a fair showing on, although it’s not yet in their top ten tracks: this is reserved for songs from their debut The SteelDrivers, released in 2008. Their most popular track “Blue Side Of The Mountain” boasts 9,480 scrobbles from 2,985 listeners and was nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals two years ago, but lost out to Sugarland.

Sophomore release Reckless is in the Best Bluegrass Album category up against a host of more established acts, including Del McCoury and Peter Rowan. Will the GRAMMY board be looking for relative newcomers to revitalise the award?

Get news and profiles from all GRAMMY nominees from Trends. Don’t forget to watch this Sunday, February 13th at 8pm on CBS.
