On Thursday, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm] was in Nashville, TN to present Save The Children a check for $140,125.68. The money was raised from ticket sales from Underwood’s latest tour.
Senior Vice President of U.S. Programs for Save the Children, Mark Shriver accepted the check from Carrie. Last year, she announced she would be donating donating 36 cents from every ticket sold to Save the Children’s U.S. programs during her Play On tour. The idea was inspired by the ’36 cent’ lyric in Carrie’s song “Change“. The song is built around the idea that every single penny adds up to make a difference to help ‘change’ the world.
