The memorial service for slain St Petersburg Police Officer David Crawford will take place this morning at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Gandy Blvd in St. Pete. Here is the information you’ll need in order to attend or navigate traffic.
The memorial service is set for Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church 1900 Gandy Blvd
The service will include final police honors, a release of doves, a flyover and a 21-gun salute.
While Officer Crawford’s memorial is open to the public, inside seating for Tuesday’s memorial service will be limited to family, friends, and the local law enforcement community. Large video monitors and seating will be set up outside the church for remote viewing.
On Tuesday, onsite church parking will be reserved for members of the immediate family, friends, law enforcement and other dignitaries attending the service.
For others, the Sears Essentials/Kmart lot will serve as the primary parking location. The Derby Lane Dog Track on Gandy Blvd will serve as excess overflow parking with a free shuttle only if the Sears Essentials/Kmart lot fills.
When the service concludes, Officer Crawford will be escorted to Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.
The procession is expected to depart the church at approximately 2:30 p.m.
The procession is expected to take approximately an hour to pass each intersection and will cause delays north and southbound for at least two hours.
