Montgomery Gentry are the second duo to go under the Last.fm Trends treatment in light of the forthcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.

Having just signed a new recording contract with Average Joes Entertainment, can the duo get off to a winning start?

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are nominated in the category for Top Vocal Duo - a category that they have been nominated in every year since the year 2000 but have so far failed to win.

2010 was an indifferent year for the Nashville pair. After releasing single “Oughta Be More Songs About That”, which peaked at #40 in the US Country chart (a career low), the band announced that the album Hits and More wouldn’t be released and that the duo would begin work on a new album.

“Oughta Be More Songs About That” has been scrobbled 2,549 times, a far cry from their most popular tracks such as “Something To Be Proud Of” (148,674 scrobbles) and “Hell Yeah” (148,999 scrobbles). However with 1,655,729 total scrobbles the band will feel confident that they can finally turn an ACM Award nomination into a win to usher in their new era in style.

Find out more about Montgomery Gentry on their Last.fm page. Keep up to date with all the latest scrobble news in the lead up to the Academy of Country Music Awards with Last.fm Trends.
