Texan musician Miranda Lambert is proudly nominated six times across five categories at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards.
The country star’s hugely successful song “The House That Built Me” is nominated in the categories for Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year, with “Only Prettier” also being nominated in the latter to double her chances of winning.
“The House That Built Me” is the fastest rising single of her career and became her first number one single when it hit the top spot in the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in July 2010. On Last.fm it has performed equally as well, being scrobbled 104,547 times and taking in over 2,000 new listeners every week.
Going up against her in the prized Entertainer of the Year Award are artists such as Jason Aldean (2,280,268 total scrobbles), Toby Keith (3,749,158 total scrobbles) and Taylor Swift, who will always be a favorite with a scrobble count of 33,269,744.
Nonetheless, the strong chart and scrobble performance of “The House That Built Me” could well see her win not just one – but two or even three awards.
