[pullquote quote=”I’m proud to be in a genre where people pay attention to meaningful lyrics and truly appreciate storytelling.” credit=”Josh Kelley”]It may appear that [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Josh Kelley[/lastfm] is riding on the coat strings of his younger brother Charles Kelley (one-third of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Antebellum[/lastfm]) and basking in the harmony of his marriage to Grey’s Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl, but make no mistake – he leads the way with the tender tracks of his first country album Georgia Clay. Don’t take our word for it, get a sneak preview of the full album here, or pick up a copy, available in stores and online  Tuesday, March 22nd!

Josh made quite an impression on radio programmers and broadcasters in early March when he performed at the 2011 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville “None was more impressive than Josh Kelley’s powerfully touching rendition of ‘Naleigh Moon,’ a song he wrote for his young daughter. If there was a dry eye in the house, it belonged to a statue in the lobby.” ~David Scarlett,

Country has always been Kelley’s first love, though his past success has been in the pop-rock genre with hits like “Amazing” and “Only You.” This album gives us a picture perfect look into the man Josh Kelley is and what is important to him.  Writing songs for a country audience just comes easier to Kelley. “I have more to say. I have a little girl, I’m married. I love telling stories.” Listen to the tracks of some of those stories:

I asked Charles whatever happened to that old truck Dad used to let us drive? ‘He said it was in a junkyard somewhere.’ I said, ‘Man, if there’s still some Georgia clay underneath it, if that Georgia clay could speak, what would it say?’ It would have seen our childhood and seen Charles and I experiencing our first everythings. ~Josh Kelley on the inspiration for “Georgia Clay.”
