With more of a true “Michigan feel” in his music, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Josh Gracin[/lastfm] was born to play the Downtown Hoedown. Just before he hits the stage this beautiful Saturday night, I sat down with Josh to talk about life’s most important things, family, music and Michigan!
[pullquote quote="I love Michigan, I wouldn't change a thing, love my 20 years growing up here. (In answer to 'What would you bring to Michigan from Nashville?) " credit="Josh Gracin"]Josh was a lot of fun to sit down and talk to. He chatted a little bit about how he is a bit different from other people, on the road. He actually loses weight while touring! But I love how Josh’s favorite thing besides his children and his wife are the childhood memories of getting in trouble for sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night, (with his now wife of course ;)) – if he’d only remembered to not make those bicycle tracks in the wet grass. . .
The most interesting and the thing I am looking forward to the most is the concept to his new album! I believe we are in for a real treat when the new album comes out. “We are putting a new Motown spin on the album, nothing like what you hear on the radio now in any genre.” Trying to do a country song that appeals to other audiences, noting that many of his followers and Facebook friends aren’t even country music fans, may just have found the perfect way to convert them to country. Watch for more. . .
Could “Favorite State of Mind” be about the girls he used to make out with?
Much Love, Coop
