The International Space Station was echoing to the honky-tonk sounds of Clint Black‘s “Galaxy Song” this weekend, as a wake up call to the astronauts. His cover of the Monty Python track is sure to have injected some humor into the atmosphere.
Today Last.fm Trends is looking at Black’s scrobbles on Last.fm, to see how he’s doing back on Earth.
“Galaxy Song” has travelled into outer space, but it’s not Clint Black’s most popular track: that accolade goes to “Like The Rain,” counting 93,042 scrobbles from 34,292 listeners. That’s just more than Monty Python’s original of “Galaxy Song,” which has gained 120,239 scrobbles from 30,472 listeners – but possibly only within our atmosphere.
Space-themed country songs may seem few and far between, but Brad Paisley is due to guest on William Shatner‘s forthcoming space-themed covers album Searching For Major Tom. Their version of “Space Cowboy” should be something to behold, but it remains to be seen if it will reach NASA’s discerning ears.
Keep up with Clint Black at his Last.fm page. Meanwhile, Last.fm Trends brings you the news in scrobbles every weekday.
