Country trio The Band Perry have a cause for a real celebration after their track “If I Die Young” reached two million digital downloads – making it double platinum.
Last.fm Trends looks at the rising success of the track.
“If I Die Young” was released five days shy of a year ago as the lead single from the band’s self-titled debut album, which was released a few months later.
The song has been a run-away success and leaves the rest of the band’s catalog trailing considerably. The track has been listened to by 69,240 Last.fm users in the past six months, with 5,417 listeners last week alone.
Furthermore, the track contributes 392,304 of the trio’s total 606,142 scrobbles, whilst the second most popular track, “You Lie” has contributed 30,204 scrobbles.
The double platinum status for “If I Die Young” is a memorable achievement for The Band Perry – one they’ll be hoping they can emulate with future material.
