[lastfm]Carter’s Chord[/lastfm] has already played several CMA Music Festivals, but the things their hardcore fans bring them to sign never ceases to amaze them. We chatted with the ladies, and they told us who they can’t wait to see perform, what’s on tap for this summer, and what it is their fans bring back to the CMA Fest so many years later.
When was your first CMA Music Festival or Fan Fair?
Four or five years ago—we played on the river, and I just remember sweating a lot. It was very, very hot, but it was so amazing to see everybody come out for this one week. It’s the only genre that does this. Country music has the best fans in the world. Whether you’re a huge superstar, or whether you’re just starting, there are people out there who make it a point to get to know who you are. We still will have people show up with pictures they took three years ago, and they’ve blown up and they want us to sign it this time around. It’s still amazing to us.
Who are you most excited to see play at the CMA Music Festival?
I think the Zac Brown Band show is going to be a big one. I’m looking forward to seeing them.
What’s next for you?
We have an EP that came out a couple of weeks ago, called ‘Wild Together.’ That’s in stores, so we’re just running around promoting that. We’ll be playing a bunch of fairs and festivals this summer and selling our EP.
