With a prolific career since his first release in 1965, Merle Haggard is gearing up to release a new album Working in Tennessee in August.

The graph above shows The Hag’s listeners since the release of last album I Am What I Am, and displays that whilst his traditional sound doesn’t pull in stratospheric amounts of listeners, the ones that he does are pretty steady.

His biggest track over the past six months is 1968’s “Mama Tried” with 59,974 listeners, and with his new release he’s taking in his past: there’ll be a new version of “Workin’ Man Blues,” which has an overall listener count of 27,400. His previous album has only gained 2,463 listeners so far, but tagged as best of 2010 it’s clear that fans are still loving his work.
