[photogallerylink id=63544 align=right] Ever since the first day I listened to This Is Country Music, the newest project from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Brad Paisley[/lastfm], one song always stuck out to me. The duet with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm] really made me realize something about love and life, but what was it? Have you seen the new video for the song?
I think anyone that listens to the song “Remind Me” realizes that there are so many relationships that we have in life that we just let go. You can’t let em fade, especially marriages and long-term relationships. I think its easy to get comfortable with someone and the regular day to day ‘responsibilities,’ I guess you can call them, of being with someone. Until it gets boring and old which happens to most of us. Theres a few people in the world that are just meant to be together. They live there life every day and are just perfect for eachother.
The rest of us might have to work a little bit to make things amazing, and thats what this songs about. In the song they talk about the first time they spent together and she even missed the plane. Most would get mad but they looked at it as another night they could spend together. They also talk about how when they first met they couldn’t stop touching each other and they wish they could go back to that.
I think a lot of us forget about ‘puppy love’ and just go for something that works. My favorite line in the song is “I don’t wanna settle for good, not great.” I really think thats why so many people get divorced these days. They settle for what they think they want, and don’t wait for that person that fits them great. Maybe that person we ‘settled’ for could actually be great if we put the energy into the relationship.
When ya see the one ya love next time, maybe hold onto em for an extra minute. Give em just one more kiss and do something different. Bring your wife flowers home from the store, or make husband the same meal you made him when you first met. Crazy what something small could do!
Anyway check out the video for “Remind Me.”
What do you think? Am I the only one that things these crazy thing?
