For some non-country fans, Eric Church has been the surprise number one on this week’s Billboard Albums Chart, and even if he’s likely to be knocked off by Kanye and Jay-Z, it’s testament to the power of country’s extremely loyal and devoted fan base.

Today Last.fm Trends is looking into his scrobbles, to see which tracks fans love, and how many new listeners he’s gained with Chief.

The graph above (click to enlarge) shows that his weekly listeners have increased of late, but we may see a more significant jump as those previously unfamiliar with his music are exposed to him via his appearance at the top of the charts.

Latest single “Homeboy” sits at #14 on his six-month chart but rising, and if the tracks on Chief are able to match his trend of increased chart placing, they should yet get to the top.
