Soldier Salute From Diane In Seffner
As the 10th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, we want to take the time to thank the men and women from the Bay area who have helped keep us safe since the terrorist attacks. If there’s a soldier you’d like to thank, click here and tell us about them.
Today’s soldier salute comes from Diane in Seffner:
I thank my son, David Lakin, who is a Marine. David was in ROTC all four years of high school and went immediately into the Marines after graduation. He served his five years and thankfully came home with all ten fingers and toes, after deployment not only in Afghanistan but also in Somalia. I am thankful for his maturity in his sacrifice to keep us all safe, and I’m VERY thankful that he’s back home now, in college, and enjoying life as a young man should, instead of worrying about bombs and IEDs and getting killed. I salute ALL troops, including my daughter in law and her husband, who are both Air Force. Her husband is in Kuwait and will return in November (she returned from Afghanistan this year). Thank you, to all who serve or have served.
