Street Date: Lady Antebellum ‘Own The Night’ With Newest Album
The newest album from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Antebellum[/lastfm], Own The Night, is truly a labor of love for Hillary, Charles and Dave. The trio stuck with the theme of “owning the night,” as 10 of the 12 songs were written or co-written by Lady Antebellum. From the living in the moment feeling of “We Owned The Night” to capturing the restraint of a budding relationship in “Just A Kiss,” Own The Night is sure to find a home with any country music fan.
“Friday Night,” the fourth track on the album, instantly stands out as a new tour opener for Lady A. It’s all about having a good time and will have any crowd singing along. And if you are worried about a “pop” sound on the album, “Love I’ve Found In You” clears that up with its blend of old school fiddle and guitar. The opening of the song is very reminiscent of “Chattahoochee” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alan Jackson[/lastfm].
“Cold As Stone,” “As You Turn Away,” and “Heart Of The World” are the album’s pure ballads. The trio of songs explore falling in and out of love, heartbreak, and finding your soul mate. It really benefits the lyrics of the album having the different make and female perspectives in these types of songs.
“Singing Me Home” gets the “stuck in my head” award. The smooth vocals from Charles and Hillary, play off the guitar tapping tempo and had me singing right along.
