Opry Plans Special Shows
[photogallerylink id=59681 align=right] The Grand Ole Opry is getting ready to celebrate its birthday next month with some special shows and events with an all star packed line up of performers.
The fun starts on Tues., Oct. 4, as the Opry honors [lastfm link_type=””]Randy Travis[/lastfm]’ 25 years in country music and as an Opry member with appearances by [lastfm link_type=””]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Connie Smith[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Josh Turner[/lastfm], including the guest of honor. The official Birthday Bash Weekend is Oct 7-8 and features [lastfm link_type=””]Charley Pride[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Rascal Flatts[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Craig Morgan[/lastfm], and the solo Opry debut of [lastfm link_type=””]Ronnie Dunn[/lastfm].
The Opry’s signature barn turns pink on Sat., Oct. 22 as the Opry joins Women Rock For The Cure™ in the fight against breast cancer with its third annual “Opry Goes Pink” show. Opry member [lastfm link_type=””]Martina McBride[/lastfm], whose current single “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” offers hope to those affected by cancer, will flip the switch on the Opry’s barn backdrop, turning it pink for the night.
