WQYK is sad to report that Charlie Daniels and his Band are in mourning and have canceled their next two shows due to the loss of one of their longtime band members.
Joel “Taz” DiGregorio, longtime keyboard player and vocalist for The Charlie Daniels Band, died as a result of injuries he sustained in the single-car accident on Interstate 40 west of Nashville while driving to meet the CDB, according to a press release from Daniels.
“I am in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends,” Charlie Daniels stated in a press release on his website. “The CDB family has lost a great friend and musician. We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We’re going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten.”
Taz was a member of the band for over 40 years. He was the co-writer of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”
WQYK sends our condolences to our dear friend Charlie Daniels, his Band and the friends and family of Taz DiGregori.
