You may remember the name [lastfm link_type=""]Casey James[/lastfm] from his third place run on last year’s American Idol. And if you do, that’s exactly what Casey wanted you to do. After what seems like a hundred years, although it was only about a dozen, performing, it was the time he spent on AI that finally gave him a break to reach a huge enough audience.
Casey says that even though he’d never even seen the show before he tried out, he’ll always be grateful for the opportunity. Look for Casey’s brand-new music video for “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” set to world premier this Friday as part of CMT’s 5th Big New Music Weekend. Of his Idol experience Casey had this to say: ”The Idol experience was great! It was everything that I…anything that I could have gotten out of it, I’ve gotten, in my opinion, you know? It’s put me here, it’s given me opportunites, it’s opened doors. It’s given me that exposure that I worked 12 years to get in every local bar and restaurant and private party, and every place that I could play. Now, here I am. It’s like, somebody says it: 10-year overnight success — that’s what the show did for me. And it was a great experience, all the way around.”
