Country Music Is Saying Exactly What You Mean

I’ve been playing some form of music on the radio for over 30 years, country for the last 12. What I’ve found that makes it unique is the same thing that many criticize it for, reality. While I appreciate a writer/singer with a song filled with double entendre’s and hidden meanings, there’s nothing like the simplicity of saying exactly what you mean in a way that we’d all ‘like’ to say it.

“My Wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to”

We’ve all probably said it a million times to our kids in one form or another , yet when [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rascal Flatts[/lastfm] sing it, my heart pumps wildly.

Sure there are songs about beer guts, cheatin’ husbands and cheatin’ wives and drinkin’ but, it’s real life that hits home in song form with immediate impact that we don’t have to try and ‘figure out’ .

“Where were you when the world stopped turning, that September day” Simple right?

And you just went there again.
