Reba’s Death Highly Exaggerated

This sounds like something out of a Mark Twain novel but it became abundantly clear that the rumors of [lastfm link_type=""]Reba McEntire[/lastfm]‘s death were part of a hoax.  The singer even took to her Twitter page yesterday afternoon to try to explain the hoax.

“There is a rumor going around that I died after falling off a mountain in Austria yesterday while shooting a movie.”  ”While I would love to be shooting a movie in Austria, I definitely did not fall off a mountain! Nor am I dead! I am alive and kicking!!! Most of you know this already because I’ve been giving you daily accounts of Shelby’s race. Oh well. Have a great day.”  The story or rumor I should say went something like this.  Someone said late Monday night Reba was in an accident in Austria that left her dead.  The “report” said she fell to her death at 4:30AM Austrian time, which would be some time Sunday night in America. McEntire did tweet about her son Shelby’s race at 1:41PM ET on Monday, so unless heaven has a wi-fi connection, fans should have known better, which most did.  My sources also tell me that the fine print beneath the original post on the rumor site made it clear that the hoax was untrue, though the text was easily overlooked. “FAKE… THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE!” the disclaimer reads. An eery twist to this story is that McEntire will soon be heading in the direction of Austria. Her website lists shows in Switzerland and Germany in early March.
