What You Eat May Be Killing You

We’ve followed study after study and heard reports of how this is no good for you or that is no good for you, now a new study from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden has found that eating processed meats like bacon and sausage can increase the risk of deadly pancreatic cancer.

Researchers suggest that for every two strips of bacon or sausage link a person eats every day, there is a 19 percent rise in risk for pancreatic cancer, according to analyzed data from 11 studies involving 6,643 pancreatic cancer patients. “There is strong evidence that being overweight or obese increase the risk of pancreatic cancer, and this study may be an early indication of another factor behind the disease,” notes Dr. Rachel Thompson of the World Cancer Research Fund.
