ZZ Top, Gretchen Wilson and 3 Doors Down have just been announced to be a part of the 2012 Tampa Bay Rays Concert Series. Last summer, The Go Go’s, the Goo Goo Dolls and more played the Trop after various Rays games. But this time, three diverse acts are all performing together after the June 17 game.
It’s quite a diverse lineup featuring a country rebel, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rock band and a pop chart topper from Mississippi.
Gretchen Wilson became the first female singer to reach #1 on the Billboard country singles chart in over 2 years with her first hit “Redneck Woman.”
The legendary ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston and are still going strong. They’ve sold over 25 million albums in the U.S. and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
3 Doors Down first hit the pop charts ten years ago with their song “Kryptonite.” This will be their 2nd performance at The Trop.
Tickets are on sale here. Fans can watch from the stands or a buy a wristband for field access that costs $40.
