Country Music Hall of Fame member George Jones remains in a Nashville area hospital today.
The-80 year-old country legend was first hospitalized on Thursday, March 29th with an upper respiratory infection. Earlier reports said he was scheduled to be released on Friday.
“George Jones remains hospitalized with an upper respiratory infection. Reports that Mr. Jones has pneumonia, are simply false. Mr. Jones is being treated with antibiotics in order to clear up his respiratory infection and will remain in a Nashville area hospital until Tuesday,” says Kirt Webster, publicist for George Jones.
“Thanks to all my fans and friends for their prayers and support during this time,” adds George Jones.
Jones is known for classic country hits, including “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”
