The one and only Ronnie Dunn who will be performing at the WQYK Fun And Sun Toyota Concert in Coachman Park in Clearwater is revving it up with his newest single, Let the Cowboy Rock, and Ronnie says that being a cowboy is more than traditional ranching or rodeo life.
As a matter of fact Ronnie says that the term “cowboy” can have a broad meaning. “Cowboy’ means different things to different people. In some ways, like the word ‘country’ brings up different images to different folks. To me, cowboy can be a broad term. It doesn’t have to be the stereotypical bull rider or steer wrestler, although they’re indeed cowboys. Someone said to me awhile back in an interview up east, said, you know, ‘So many country singers seem to work hard to fit the mold by acting-out in their songs,’ or the clothes we wear or the mannerisms of the cowboy lifestyle. I said, ‘Well, it’s pretty simple. It’s because a lot of us grew up in parts of the country and in environments where cowboy was a real part of our world.’ “I think it goes without sayin’ that cowboys, cowgirls, and country music go hand in hand — let ‘em rock!”
