Ryan Seacrest who has been with American Idol since the show began back in 2002, the first season he was teamed up with Brian Dunkleman. Brian left the show after the first season which probably was a big mistake for him considering American Idol took off and never looked back.
American Idol has been declining over the last few years but that did not affect the decision of the executives at Fox, they were very eager to keep Seacrest, who has been dubbed “the glue” that keeps Idol together. Show producers and network execs “cannot envision the show without Ryan,” one Idol insider told THR. “The goal has always been to keep him.”
I honestly have to say that I could not see American Idol going on without Ryan Seacrest either, they have gone through a number of changes at the judges seat, but it really is the job of the Host to keep everything together and Seacrest does that very well.
Seacrest has signed a brand new deal worth $30 million dollars, that means he will be making a cool $15 million a year.
