Big Kenny and John Rich of Big & Rich spoke with Cledus and Dave about their new single, “That’s Why I Pray” Thursday. Sarah Buxton, Blair Daly and Danelle Leverett of the Jane Dear Girls wrote the powerful lyrics. Big & Rich say the lyrics are “exactly how I feel” about the world today. The song has already been deemed the highest-debuting single for a duo in the history of country music and is the #1 most watched music video on CMT. John Rich adds that the song “really speaks to where Americans hearts and minds are because it’s all about the lyrics.”

John also talked about his home in Tennessee and how much money was raised for charity in it and if there was any new neighborhood drama. The guys also reminisced about hanging out at Dave’s condo after their show at Taste of Pinellas and the Eckerd College girls volleyball team.

When the topic of pissing off Clay Aiken on Celebrity Apprentice came up, John Rich gave us some insight saying, “I didn’t piss him off. I just pushed him a little bit.” He then spoke about his victory on the show saying that other competitors “didn’t dig deep enough to raise money. So when I went in there to interview them, I asked them the hard questions… why didn’t you raise more money? And if that pissed him off.”

Rich explained his reasoning for being blunt, telling the contestants to “toughen up, you were there for charity you’re not there for yourself.” Big & Rich then told us how they felt about Donald Trump asking Rich back on Celebrity Apprentice by giving us their best impressions of the icon.
