Jerrod Niemann has a new album coming later this year, and he says one of the really amazing things about making music is when your music touches someone’s life — and then when that someone tells you what your song meant to them. “You know, it never gets tired — or expected — when people come up and tell you that a song has affected them one way or another, from a Saturday-night good-time, you know, to a Monday-night cry-yourself-to-sleep story. And anytime someone tells you that they’re affected by your music, it’s mind-blowing. It truly is. And there’s nothing that means more, because when you write the song, you record it, and then you’re out performing it, you’re just doin’ your thing and hopin’ that people are payin’ attention. And every once in a while, you lose focus on what music does. It affects you, it speaks to you, and that’s why all of us moved to Nashville is because music has spoken to us our whole lives. So, it never gets old, and it’s always appreciated when someone comes up and tells you how a song has changed their life or helped them through something. And so, it means a lot, so, anybody that’s shared their stories with me in the past, I really do appreciate it, and they’re all unforgettable.”
