Step aside, Carrie Underwood. At least that’s what Alan Jackson‘s new album, Thirty Miles West, said to this week to Underwood’s Blown Away on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Jackson’s album took the top spot, pushing Blown Away down a notch to Number Two.
But of course, Number Two isn’t bad, either. In fact, that’s where Jackson’s album landed on the Billboard 200 album chart, which covers all genres. Other artists who made Top Ten on the album chart this week with brand-new albums include the Beach Boys, Neil Young, and singer-songwriter Brandi Carlisle. Underwood’s album sits at Number 9, while Luke Bryan‘s Tailgates & Tanlines is Number 11.
Another new release, the debut from One Tree Hill actress Jana Kramer, comes in at Number 19. (On the country album charts, Kramer reaches all the way into the Top Five.)
Thirty Miles West is Jackson’s 14th studio album and his first released under his new label name Alan’s Country Records (in conjunction with EMI Nashville).
