Chelsea Kane talks to us about, “Dancing With The Stars,” how she spent Father’s day, did she spend it with her dad? We also talked about her new comedy called, “Baby Daddy,” which premieres on the ABC Family network, Wednesday, June 20th.

This upcoming half hour comedy follows Ben, a guy in his 20’s who gets the surprise of his life when an ex-girlfriend leaves their baby at his doorstep. Ben decides to raise the baby girl with the help of his brother, Danny, his two close friends, Riley and Tucker, and his mother, Bonnie.

We asked Chelsea if she still keeps in touch with her DWTS partner, Mark Ballas, she responded by saying, ” We’re still pretty close, we still bump into each other all the time and whenever the show is on I send him text of encouragement or let him know what I thought of the latest dance, and uh yes we’re still buds.”

When asked if she has any Fathers day traditions, she answered by saying, ” I grew up in Arizona so usually I try to get home for Fathers day and that’s just a day were dad is able to force me to watch, Steve Mcqueen movies and car chases and I’m not allowed to complain about it, whatever he wants to do goes, alot of times that includes washing the car, working on the lawn with him, so this is nice my parents were actully in California this Fathers day so I had a little more control but it was great to see my dad, he’s a pretty cool guy.”

Melissa Peterman plays the mom on “Baby Daddy” so we asked Chelsea what it’s like to work with Melissa, she said, ” One of my favorite people in the entire world to work with, I was a fan of her from her “Reba” days and um she is just brilliant, she’s one of the funniest women I have ever met and half of her dialogue you hear in the show is stuff that she came up with on the spot. You know as a young actress just kinda starting out it’s so fun to work with someone like that who’s so talented but also just so kind and really I wanna take so much that she does through my career as far as how to treat a cast and crew, she’s so humble and wonderful so I’m thrilled that I get to work with her.”
