The lionfish is a beautiful fish, but the fish is poisonous and has been killing other fish in their natural habitat.  NOAA, which is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, launched a campaign two years ago that told the public to eat the lionfish so they thin the numbers of the fish out, but the plan backfired.

The lionfish has a potentially dangerous neurotoxin, which can cause ciguatera, a dangerous fish food poisoning.  Scientists have said that many fish have ciguatera in them and that it is ok to eat the lionfish.
