Earlier this week Miranda Lambert teased her Twitter followers with a message that she was about to shoot a new video (she had previously mentioned it during an interview in Detroit). She also wrote that it would feature “a really cool guest star or 2.”
Turns out that at least one of the guest stars was none other than NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, known as the fastest female auto racer out there. Which is an appropriate choice, since the video is for Miranda’s fast-rising new radio single, “Fastest Girl in Town.”
Sony Nashville confirmed today that the video, as suspected, is indeed for “Fastest Girl.” The shoot took place about an hour west of Nashville in Dickson, Tennessee. It was directed by Trey Fanjoy, who’s worked with Miranda since her “Kerosene” video (she also directed Miranda’s recent “Over You” video), as well as with stars such as Taylor Swift, Lee Ann Womack, and George Strait, among many others.
And the news that Danica was a guest star? That was teased, again, by Miranda herself on Twitter.
And the news was echoed by Danica on her Twitter account (she also included a photo that mirrored the one Miranda posted).
Apparently the shoot went well, and the two bonded during the experience.
Long video shoot. Up since 5 am! But…it’s gonna be sooooo worth it! Probably my favorite one ever! And I made a new friend…
