So how long does it take for a song to make it or break it?  Lets ask Jerrod Niemann, he’s “Shinin’ on Me.” Shinin is a song that was written just as his Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury album was being released in July of 2010, that’s right two years ago, so if you feel some of that great, fun, summertime vibe when you hear it you’ll know why.  Jerrod gives us the lowdown:  Excited to have new music?  “Yes, it’s so exciting to have new music out and also to have a song out that I wrote with my buddy Lee Brice, and the great thing about, you know, bein’ able to put this song out was it was written the weekend we released the first album. We were out in Austin, Texas, with Brad Paisley playin’ AquaPalooza, hangin’ out with — I think they said there were 70,000 boats there and estimated over 100,000 Texans. So I thought, ‘Well, if that’s not a great day, what is?’ So we went to the bus, and I think every window on the bus was open, this beautiful breeze, evening breeze, comin’ through the windows, and we just wrote ‘Shinin’ on Me.’”  And don’t forget to wish Jerrod a Happy Birthday he celebrates this week.  Happy Birthday, Jerrod! Jerrod celebrates his big day Tuesday, July 24th! Be sure to follow Jerrod and tweet him a birthday greeting @jrodfromoz!
