Jerrod Niemann is thrilled to be looking ahead to the October 2nd release of his new album, Free the Music — and he talks about it here:  “It’s very exciting to be able to put out a second album, but for me, it’s so exciting just to be able to say, ‘Hey, this is what I thought after the first album,’ or even some of those songs are just as old as the songs on there. It just depends where they fit, and you know, a lot of it’s a state of mind. It’s sort of like if you were to take photo albums, and you think, ‘These go good together from this vacation,’ or ‘This goes good together from this part of my childhood.’ So, albums are sort of like snapshots of your life or things that have inspired you in some way. And so if you could rip open a songwriter’s heart, you’d probably see all these photo albums and things like that. I mean, obviously not, but they’re little snapshots of time, little collections of parts of your life. And the first album, I can look through there and see a lot of things that made me grow as a person, as an artist, a lot of memories — like most music, hopefully, will give you — and that happens even when you make your own music, you know, you remember where you were when you were recording it or when you maybe even sang it for the first time on stage or the first time you’re lucky enough to hear it on the radio. And those are all important I think, lead into the progress of your next album.”
