Carrie Underwood continues to have one of the nation’s hottest songs on the radio and video airwaves with her smash, “Blown Away,” and Carrie says that there are touches throughout the video that draw from a film that was one of her childhood favorites, The Wizard of Oz.  Carrie tells Sony Music Nashville:  “The ‘Blown Away’ video is kind of — my take — it’s like Wizard of Oz meets the song. (laughs) It’s not all sweet and bubbles and, you know, beautiful munchkin — nothing like that. It’s the story — it’s like, rundown house — it’s like, this farm, but there’s definite ties to Wizard of Oz, ’cause I love that movie. I loved that movie growin’ up. And it’s just…what’s the first movie you would think of when you think of tornado would be Wizard of Oz. So there’s certain little tie-ins with it. I’m wearing red shoes, but they’re not like sparkly red shoes, they’re like red boots. You know, we’re shooting the thing in that like sepia, brown and white color. At the end of the video, it’s this beautiful vivid gorgeous color. Just little things. You’ll kind of have to watch it, probably a few times, to like pick out all the little references. Nothing overdone. You know, we’re not forcing anything but it’s definitely like a modern take on a classic movie.”
