Casey James Is In Wonder

Casey James helped the Grand Ole Opry celebrate its 87th birthday recently and played both of the Opry’s Saturday-night shows, as well as a free concert on the Plaza Stage outside.  Casey says anytime he has a chance to play the Opry is both an honor and just a cool feeling.  Casey tells Sony Music Nashville:  “It’s always exciting to play the Opry because it’s got such history. And you have all the people that you’ve listened to your whole life. I mean, pretty much everybody that I’ve ever looked up to has played at the Opry, and so, you’re sittin’ in a room where easily some of your heroes could have sat in the exact same space. And you have that sense of awe at all times. And, you know, I never really tend to get nervous when I’m gonna go play music because I love it, and it’s enjoyable to me, but there’s always that sense of wonderment, you know, and that’s always enjoyable. It’s a fresh feeling, and so, it gives you a little bit of a, like I said, a different feeling than most gigs. I mean, as it should. I mean, it’s the Opry.”
