In September…

Kix Brooks releases his first post-Brooks & Dunn solo album, titled New to This Town.

Carrie Underwood‘s Blown Away album becomes a million-seller, certified RIAA Platinum.

Jake Owen releases his four-song Endless Summer EP.

Kenny Chesney is among the honorees at the 6th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors, a special event at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium where Kenny is celebrated with the ACM’s Crystal Milestone Award. A four-time ACM Entertainer of the Year, the award recognizes Kenny as an artist whose amazing career accomplishments have helped to promote the entire genre of country music.

12-year-old Chase Kurnick makes national news when Carrie Underwood pulls him from the audience at her Louisville, Kentucky, show in response to his concert sign asking her to be his first kiss. Chase — and the video of his on-stage, lip-to-lip Carrie smooch — make their way to NBC’s Today show, where Chase isn’t afraid to kiss and tell about his experience!
