The July 3rd passing of entertainment legend Andy Griffith is felt by many fans, including Brad Paisley, who asked Andy to star in the music video for “Waitin’ on a Woman,” which won the 2008 CMA Award for Music Video of the Year. At the time of the video, Brad said that Andy’s work has truly influenced his life.

Carrie Underwood is new on the radio with “Blown Away,” the second single and title track to her latest album.

On the Fourth of July, President Obama and the USO honor our armed forces and their families with the fourth annual “Salute to the Military” USO concert, featuring Brad Paisley. Held on the White House South Lawn, the event also streams live to fans across the nation.

On July 24th, Love and Theft release their self-titled album, their first for RCA, which features the singles “Runnin’ Out of Air” and the song that will become their first number-one smash, “Angel Eyes.”

Jake Owen and his wife Lacey Buchanan Owen announce that the couple will be welcoming their first child, a baby girl, in November.

Kenny Chesney hits number-one with his red-hot smash, “Come Over,” which earns RIAA certification as a Gold Digital Single in just over nine weeks, becoming the fastest Gold Single certification of Kenny’s career!
