Top 5 Grossing Country Tours Of 2012

This year, we saw a lot of amazing tours hitting the road, especially in the country world.  Some brought record breaking numbers and others brought unbelievable on-site experiences that made every country fan yearn for more.  Every year, Billboardlists their top 25 tours of the year and this time, five amazing country acts made the list.  See which artists brought in the most cash, the most fans and the most intense on stage experience.

1.  Tim McGraw & Kenny Chesney‘s “Brothers of the Sun” Tour

This 23-show tour hit many major stadiums in the United States this past summer and raked in the most dough and fans in country music history.  The tour grossed over $96,458,890 for the bands and brought in a record breaking attendance of over 1,000,000 fans!

2.  Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” Tour

Coming in at number 13 on the top 25 list, Jason Aldean hit the road for the second leg of his My Kinda Party Tour with Luke Bryan & Lauren Alaina, giving him a hugely successful, entirely sold out tour!  All 59 of his dates were completely sold out thanks to his massive hit record.  This tour brought in $39,956,703 for Jason and his gang as well as 984,229 attendees!

3.  Lady Antebellum’s “Own The Night Tour”

Just one spot below Aldean, is the successful trio Lady Antebellum whose “Own The Night” tour managed to scoop up $38,358,801 in ticket sales from 860,065 fans who attended.  Of the 88 dates they performed on their tour, 72 of those shows were complete sell outs.

4.  Brad Paisley’s “Virtual Reality” Tour

Brad Paisley wanted to take his fans into a virtual world filled with live music, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and an all day music festival that would make any country fan’s boots tap.  And he did just that!  Opening the gates early afternoon, he brought three bands on tour just to perform a pre-show concert for waiting fans.  Alongside them, he and support The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery racked in $33,794,719 dollars in tickets to its 284,852 fans on this 51 date tour!

5.  Taylor Swift “Speak Now” Tour

Though only the very end of Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now World Tour made it into 2012, it still sold out enough to put her at 24 on Billboard’s Top 25 list.  Every show in the new year sold out, giving Taylor and her gang $26,310,160 in ticket sales from her 285,715 fans in attendance.
